Thomas "Tom" Francis Fitzpatrick, Jr.

Thomas 'Tom' Francis Fitzpatrick, Jr. (86) has left this earth in search of the next great party. A longtime Oxnard resident, he passed away peacefully on October 31st, 2017 in Anaheim, CA.

He was born in Los Angeles, CA on January 21, 1931 to Irene (nee Cunningham) and Thomas Francis Fitzpatrick, Sr. He graduated in 1948 from Loyola High School, where his studies reflect his life-long love of music and sports. His favorite teams being Green Bay and the LA Dodgers. He transferred his R.O.T.C experience into service in the Air Force, playing football and studying engineering. He worked as a Cryptographer before being honorably discharged having earned the Good Conduct and National Defense

Service Medals.

Tom loved people. He was always on the move, making new friends, and keeping up with old ones. He was a long time member of the Fraternal Order of the Moose and in recent years spent a great deal of time with fellow veterans at Oxnard Family Circle. He was also entrepreneurial, selling electronic parts to the aeronautics industry for the majority of his career, finally retiring from his business, Alto Engineering in 2016.

He is survived by his third wife, Mary Fitzpatrick, his daughter Diana Boecher (Mike), stepdaughter Irma Mullaley and stepson Joe Villasenor (Cecilia); his grandchildren, Lori O'Driscoll (Chris), Layla Lyne Winkler, Jeff Villasenor (Rhonda), Kristyn Dahilig (Mike) and Chris Smith; his great-grand daughters, Brittany Ramirez, Ataley Villasenor and Andi Rae Dahilig; many nieces and nephews and many long-time friends. Tom was predeceased by his sisters, Marian Howard and June Smith with whom he was very close.

Services will be held at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo, CA. Rosary and visitation will be Wednesday 11/15/2017 at 5pm. A mass and burial will be held on Thursday 11/16/2017 at 10am, followed by a reception on-site.

To quote his favorite Cab Calloway song, Tom "had a heart as big as a whale." He will be deeply missed.
