James Wisdom Obituary
April 2, 1943 – Sept. 29, 2025
Funeral services for James Lee Wisdom, Sr., 82, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, with Thomas Haning officiating.
Burial followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Services, Inc.
Mr. Wisdom was born on April 2, 1943, to Dillon and Vola May Wisdom. He passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025.
He served in the U.S. Army, was a skilled roofer, and answered God's call as a preacher of the Gospel.
Survivors are four daughters, Sharon Caldwell of Sallisaw, Carolyn Werner of Tulsa, Teresa Childress of Sallisaw and Cynthia Wisdom of Sallisaw; four sons, Geroma Green of Tulsa, James Wisdom, Jr. and wife Denise, of Clarksville, Ark., and John Wisdom and fiancé Jerry Fultz of Eureka Springs, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Pauletta Childress; hundreds of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara; daughter, Rhonda Pearce; two sons, Charles Childress and Leslie Sutton; and his parents.
Pallbearers were retired CW4 Jeremy Cruz, CW2 Ross Childress, CW2 John Wisdom, Jr., retired Master SGT Chuck Tayloe, Blayd Caldwell and Jacob Cruz.
Honorary pallbearers were Bruce Caldwell, Cody Werts, Buddy Werts, Kenneth Sutton, Nick Burris and Daniel Cruz.
