Maxine Sells Obituary

Funeral services for Maxine Viola Sells, 75, were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel at Forever Memories Funeral Service in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Brushy Cemetery under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services, Inc., Sallisaw.
Mrs. Sells was born on March 22, 1950, in Muskogee, to Howard and Mary Daniels. She passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025.
She enjoyed flowers and gardening, baking, tending to her chickens, and was known for her stories. You could find her working side-by-side with her son Teddy at Ted's Building Supply or with grandson Hesston at Ted's Discount Lumber.
Survivors are three sons, Shelby Sells, Tony Sells and Teddy Sells; a grandson she raised as her own, Hesston Sells; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lela Buzbee and Shirley McCoy; two brothers, Buster Daniels and Sonny Boy Daniels; and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Shelby W. Sells; brothers, Terry Daniels and Tom Daniels; and sister, Clara Meeks.
Pallbearers were Hesston Sells, Justin Sells, Chris Sells, Teddy Wayne Sells, Tripp Sells and Sean Smith.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I knew Maxine from the auctions. She also waited on me many times at both lumber yards. She was always very nice and patient. It's not goodbye. It's I'll see ya later.
