Martin was my first Principal when I began teaching at Highland School back in 1995. I always remember his office as being comfortable and full of things that were given to him. He was a kind and caring man.
God Bless his family and dear Friends!

Ken, I was devastated to learn of Mrtin's death. I adored him, and treasured his friendship. He was an outstanding human being.
Did you know that he went on E-bay and purchased a very old pinch bottle of Haig & Haig scotch and gave it to me? He felt I should have it because of my last name.
Take care, Ken

I am sorry to hear of Mr. Ruby's passing. He was a great teacher who challenged his students. I was lucky enough to run into him from time to time over the many years and let him know how he positively impacted my life. May the peace of our Lord accompany you at this difficult time.

When Martin entered a room, you not only felt his towering presence, you were warmed by his 'forever ' smile. He welcomed and embraced all. Students always greeted him with, "Hi, Mr. Ruby!" Mutual respect from students and fellow teachers followed where ever he was ... it was a protocol. As we journey through life there are people we will always remember with a smile. It was a pleasure and privilege to have taught with him at Mt. View School for many years. To his family ... know that he made a wonderful difference and his life's work is a tribute to a fine man. I worked with all the VUSD Principals for many years, working for Dr. Ehrgott in the District Office Elementary Curriculum Dept. Martin was one of my very favorite 'guys'. He was always professional, very courteous, and admired by all who worked with and for him.
He always stopped by my desk with a cheerful greeting.
I truly was, and am, very sad reading of Martin's death. He was a truly remarkable Principal, and a wonderful friend!

We are sorry to hear of Martin's death. May God give you strength at this time. I didn't know Martin well during High School, only when he began dating my roommate and sorority Sister. I was glad to see him and Linda at the last High School reunion. Anna and Darwin Atkin.
