In 2003, 2004 (not sure of exact year) but a greeting of "Good Morning" at a Sunday morning service at Porterville Church of the Nazarene became a special friendship that has continued through 2020. My sons and I visited the church a few times and one of those mornings, we sat in front of Kenneth and Pauline. She struck up a conversation and told me she too, had 2 sons. She was so kind and so friendly to my sons and me. One morning as we walked in, she invited us to sit with her and Kenneth. And so began a friendship that would last for many years. When my sons went off to college, she would call and ask how they were doing and we would talk on the phone from time to time. She loved her family so very much and prayed for them daily. I appreciate her kindness, her friendship, her prayers and the memories of our visits I will cherish forever until we meet again in Heaven. I pray God will bless the Smothermon family and give them God's peace through this difficult time.
