Priscilla "Midge" Zupp

Priscilla Zupp Obituary

Priscilla "Midge" Zupp, beloved mom and "Gramous," died peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, at El Camino Hospital, in Mountain View, CA. She was 68 years old. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her three children, Brent Zupp, Dianna Zupp, and Pam Prodromou who tearfully said their goodbyes and expressed great appreciation to her for showing them how to live their lives with strength, dignity, kindness, and compassion. Born in Tulare, on December 29, 1940 to Cecil and Priscilla Wolfe-Jones, Priscilla married in 1961, and lived with her family in Palo Alto, CA; Cherry Hill, NJ; Seattle, WA; Miami, FL; and Cleveland, OH, until they settled in Fresno, CA in 1977. During her Miami days, Priscilla brilliantly juggled homemaking and working outside the home to support the family, thriving in her work as an administrative assistant to the head of cardiology at the University of Miami Medical Center. She returned to Tulare in 1991, where she lived until she became ill in March 2009. While in Tulare, she was an active member of the historical society and a dear friend to all who were lucky enough to know her. Priscilla found great joy in many activities: listening to music, shopping, antiquing, and watching the news and professional tennis and football games on television. Her absolute greatest joy was being a mom and "Gramous." She was completely and totally dedicated to these roles, from the moment her children and grandchildren were born, until the day she died. Her smiles, reassuring hand squeezes and heartfelt hugs helped heal innumerable boo boos and bruised egos. She ALWAYS listened and put family and loved ones first. We will miss everything about her. Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Tony and Paul Wolfe-Jones. She is survived by and remembered exceedingly fondly by her three children and three grandchildren, Paul Zupp (12 years old), Elena Prodromou (6 years old), and Tessa Prodromou (3 years old), all of the San Francisco Bay Area. A Memorial Service will be at 3pm, Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, 132 W. Kern Avenue in Tulare. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central California: www.centralca.wish. org, 1-800-831-9474, or 83 East Shaw, Suite 202, Fresno, CA 93710. Priscilla was a wonderful woman and always had a smile on her face. I enjoyed waiting on her in the pharmacy. I will miss her smile and joyful demeanor.
