Theresa R. Tortosa

Theresa R. Tortosa, age 88 of Bethel, died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Danbury Hospital. Theresa was born April 11, 1922 in Flushing, LI, N.Y., daughter of the late Michael and Addolorata (Paradiso) Tortosa. She worked for Cash Box Magazine as Circulation Manager until her retirement. She has been a Bethel resident since 1982 and was an active parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Bethel. She is survived by her brother, Sam Tortosa of Redding; a niece, Dolores A. Cafasso and her husband, Paul of Redding; nephew, Michael Tortosa and his wife Gerri of Highland Park, N.J.; as well as several grandnieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Camille and Ann Tortosa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Bethel, Friday at 12 Noon. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel, will be in the Spring. The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Friday morning from 10 until leaving for Mass at 11:30.
