Alma L. Smith
Canaan, NH — Alma Smith died peacefully at her home on March 24, 2022, at the age of 94 with her family by her side. She was born in Arlington MA on May 7, 1927. She married Chauncey Smith in 1946, Chauncey passed in 2002 at the age of 86.
Alma had a very strong will for life and gave death one heck of a battle. Her daughter Garnet was her major care giver and was at her side when she passed.
Alma loved her family and nothing made her happier than to have them all together at the family home, cooking large meals for everyone. When the grandchildren came she was so happy and loved seeing and caring for them. Then the great grandchildren came and she was beyond happy. One of the last photos that was taken was of her with her 2 newest great-grandbabies, she had the most peaceful happy smile, and we will always cherish that.
Aside from her immediate family, Alma enjoyed spending time with her dear friend, Vivian, whom she loved as if they were sisters. The two of them spent countless hours shopping and looking for "deals". Vivian was a very special part of Alma's life and of her daughters' life.
Alma loved cooking, sewing, crocheting and knitting and just spending time with family.
Alma is survived by her 5 daughters Patricia Smith of Easton Maine, Gail Smith of Moore Haven FL, Garnet Smith of Cape Coral, FL, Gloria Koch of Canaan, NH and Sherrill Zani of Canaan. 8 Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
The family would also like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Weiss, Kim Cotto and Anne Berry.
