Jeffrey Zack Obituary

Jeffrey L. Zack

Loudon, NH — Jeffrey Zack peacefully passed away July 27, 2022 after an extended struggle with his health. He was born to Ethel (Melvin) and Raymond Zack in Chicago, Illinois. Jeffrey was exposed to much of the United States early in his life, as his family would move frequently throughout his childhood. In his young years, Jeffrey grew a love for the freedom he got from wheeled vehicles. He enjoyed biking and riding motorcycles with his brother, Michael. This love for vehicles and automobiles quickly grew into a career for Jeffrey, and after highschool, he began an extremely successful career in Stamford, Connecticut in the European Automotive Repair Business. After establishing himself as an accomplished automotive tech working on high end European vehicles, Jeffrey moved to Vermont to continue his career with his brother. He and his brother started Northern Motorsport Ltd, where he worked for over 20 years until his health forced an early retirement. His accolades continued here - he maintained the largest private Bugatti collection in the country and was a certified BMW Master Technician.

These accolades did not compare to the friendships he made at the shop. Everyone who worked with him remembers him for his eclectic taste of music, always setting the mood for the day, whether it be with mo-town, old-school rap, 80's/90's club music, or "Indian Chill" music, to name just a few of his favorite genres. Others will remember his thunderous laugh as he would tell stories of his past around the lunch table. Jeffrey was a collector of many things - Vintage European automobiles, antique smoking pipes, and of course, music; all of which he would enjoy at his favorite annual trek to the Hershey Car show in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He looked forward to this trip every year for over 25 years.

Jeffrey married Denise Baldassarre of Boston, MA in 1986. They enjoyed life together in Hartland Vermont for years before moving to Loudon, NH in 2021. Together, they enjoyed traveling (their favorite destination being Italy), cooking and experiencing interesting new foods, raising dogs, and taking trips in Jeffrey's antique MGA.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife Denise, brother Michael, sister-in-law Mary Beth (Ireland) Zack, brother-in-law Joseph Baldassarre and wife Lisa (Brossman) Baldasarre, sister-in-law Angelina Baldassarre, nieces and nephews Sarah Atherton (Zack), Amy Waldleigh (Zack), Mick Zack, Danielle Baldassarre, and Michael Baldassarre. A loving acknowledgement must be extended to one of Jeffrey's lifetime best friends, Mark Spinosa, who helped support him during his later years.

There will be remembrances in Boston and Vermont at a later date. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Mass General for their care and compassion to Jeff during his last months.

I'm very sorry to hear about Jeff.
I haven't seen Jeff in a while but I remember well his efforts trying to keep my "formerly nice" BMW's on the road during the mid-ninties.
At one point he walked me into the shop to observe the process of him tackling the conundrom known as the "automatic climate control" system on a tired 735i.
I was riding a motorcycle at the time and Jeff wanted to know what motorcycle...a 1973 Triumph Trident.
That got Jeff's interest.
When I exited the parking lot, I noticed that Jeff had come to the window to see the bike and make sure it sounded right.
I recognized Jeff as a true appreciator and the world will miss him.
