Rhonda L. Littlefield
White River Junction, VT - Rhonda L. Littlefield, 65, passed away on September 28, 2025, at the Jack Byrne Center surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born August 19, 1960, Rhonda was the fourth child of Frederick L. Davis and Elizabeth (Baker) Davis, together they made their home on Route 14 amongst other neighbors who would become family more than friends.
Rhonda graduated from Hartford High School in 1978, and to say that she was part of an amazing close-knit class is an understatement. Throughout school, Rhonda was active in square dancing and swimming in the White River and more famously the pond on Route 14 under the weeping willow tree. She also spent most of her time riding snow machines and spending time with her family at local camps with friends and family.
After graduating high school and working at the local hospital as a candy striper, Rhonda went to work at Lebanon Crushed Stone. In these years, she married Michael Murphy, and had two children, first a daughter, Kristen and four years later, a son Ryan. Her twenties were spent enjoying many good times making memories, particularly with her best friend Lorraine. Traveling through the White Mountains and camping in the Northeast Kingdom by day and listening to live music at night. She made herself very active in the community, helping with kids sports and activities - and this help even went into her part-time jobs at Sears and the Valley News. Her ability to go above and beyond for others was very clear with everything she did. She loved helping people and advising them on the things she was passionate about.
Rhonda's life shifted gears when she met the love of her life, Shaver. The two of them spent time traveling, skiing, golfing, and skydiving (yes skydiving to celebrate her 40th birthday). Rhonda and Shaver were members of the Elks Club and made many friends there and on the golf courses. She was very active and devoted to the Hartford Alumni Association and was very proud of her Hartford roots that went back generations. Rhonda eventually left Lebanon Crushed Stone and went to work as a Dispatcher and eventually becoming a Safety Director at RSD Transportation. Shaver and Rhonda got married years later, gaining not only extra sisters, but a bonus daughter, and more grandchildren to spoil. It was during this time that her of love of sewing really flourished. She spent evenings and weekends creating stockings and blankets for all she loved. She was the go-to for repairs on clothes and made dresses for the girls (with matching doll dresses too), if it required a needle and thread, everyone knew to call Rhonda.
Rhonda spent the last years of her life at Pike Industries, as a Scale Master. Morning coffee with her drivers and conversations about life were her favorite. Those who knew her, knew she was a hard-working woman who was tough as nails. When Rhonda spoke, you listened. She worked right up until the last days of her life, she was a pillar of the community and will be missed by so many.
She is survived by her husband Gordon 'Shaver' Littlefield of White River Junction; three children Kristen Connors (Dave) of Hartford, VT, Ryan Murphy (Jenna) of Quechee, VT, and Kesstan Nestle (Christopher) of Enfield, NH; her mother Betty Davis of Sharon, VT; four siblings Fred Davis, Jr. of White River Junction, Linda Snow (David) of White River Junction, Steven Davis (Lisa) of Sharon, and Tim Davis, Sr. (Kim) of Chino Valley, AZ; twelve grandchildren Payton, Sutton, Emerson, Ayden, Stephen, Travis, Gabriel, Joslyn, Justin, Josie, Damian, and Shiloh; one great granddaughter Sophia, and a soon to be great grandson on the way; sisters in law, many nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by her father, Frederick L. Davis, and her sister-in-law, Colleen Davis.
