Valmore Hannah Obituary

Valmore A. Hannah

West Lebanon, NH - Valmore A. Hannah, 87, died June 5, 2023, at his home in West Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Valmore (Val to all who knew him), was born August 15, 1935, in Lennoxville, Quebec, Canada to Eugene and Cecile (Lessard) Hannah. He lived in Berlin, NH until his family settled in Lebanon in 1937, where he graduated from Lebanon High School in 1955.

Val served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He worked as a Crew Chief on KC-97 Air Refueling Tankers and was stationed in Thule, Greenland, earning him membership in the Arctic Order, Knights of the Blue Nose.

Val and his father opened Hannah's Mobile Home Park in Lebanon in 1959 and he ran the park until his retirement in 1999. In 1961, he married his wife, MaryLou (Blanchard) Hannah.

Val was the consummate handyman and could accomplish anything he set his mind to, figuring out how to overcome nearly any obstacle with the tools and materials at hand. He was always willing to help and was the first to volunteer. He was active and coached in the West Lebanon Youth Hockey Association, supported the La Salette Community, and was a member of the Lebanon Lodge of Elks. Val and MaryLou enjoyed their summers camping in NH and wintering at their home in Vero Beach, FL.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, MaryLou; two sons and their spouses, Michael (Cynthia) Hannah of Cornish, NH and Thomas (Elizabeth) Hannah of Hampstead, NH; four granddaughters, Cheri, Kelsey, Lily, and Camelia; brother, Raymond of Chicago, IL; and sister, Lorraine Curtis of Statesville, NC. Val was predeceased by his brother, Dennis, and sisters, Joan Lecouffe and Eileen Lucas.

At Val's request, no services will be held at this time.

Memorial donations may be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire (VNHcare.org).

Messages of remembrance or condolence may be mailed to 69 Lily Lane, Unit 007, West Lebanon, NH 03784. An online guestbook is also available at www.rickerfuneralhome.com.

I lived in Hannah's Trailer Park in the early 60s and remember Val and MaryLou. Thanks for giving my family a wonderful place to live!

Although Val was pretty quiet, he enjoyed a good time and I cannot help but think if him working on the Lebanon HS float or helping out with the La Salette fair. (I seem to recall him cajoled into wearing wigs!?) He was always willing to lend a hand. Sending you our condolences, MaryLou! Kristina & Greg
