Edith Whisennand Obituary

Edith Claudine Whisennand, 78

On Sept 15th, 2025 the angels took our beloved wife and mother, Edith Claudine Whisennand. She was born on Aug 22nd, 1947 in LaGrande, OR. From there she moved to White Sulpher Springs, MT with her family who then moved to Plains, MT in 1961. There she met the love of her life, Charles Whisennand. They were married on Sept 29th, 1963. Her life was spent running a trucking business with her husband.

She was a proud member of Eastern Star for 59 years. Worthy Matron of Ideal Chapter #40 numerous times.

She is survived by her husband of 62 yrs, Charles Whisennand and her daughters Judy Whisennand, Theresa Lindeman, Leah Nompleggi, LaShonda Harless, and Carla Farmer. In addition to 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren

Eastern Star Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Plains, MT on the 27th of Sept at 2pm with a graveside service to follow at Plains Cemetery. There will be a potluck dinner to follow provided by the Eastern Star at the United Methodist Church Plains.

My Grandmother was the greatest woman i have ever known. She taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, how to swallow your pride, and how to love unconditionally. Her determination showed me how the tough times were a PART of life, not just something to get through. The hole she left in my heart will never be filled.
