Richard E. Monter
Richard "Dick" Monter, age 73, of Yermo, Calif., passed away at his home, Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009. Dick was born in Alliance, Ohio, August 8, 1936, and was a resident of Yermo for 48 years.
He served in the Army from 1959-1963 at Fort Irwin, Calif., and worked at the Marine Corps Logistics Base for 37 years. He belonged to the Elks Lodge, Horse Shoe Pitching League, Bowling League and Square Dancing Club. Dick also loved riding his quad in the Calico Mountains, camping and fishing.
Dick is survived by wife, Cassondra Kay Monter of Yermo; sons, Tom Monter of Yermo and Rex Monter of Las Vegas; and daughters, Rita Monter of New York, Brenda Gnuschke of Barstow and Cassie Jennings of New York. Together Dick and Cassondra have 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Dick will be missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to P.O. Box 696 Yermo Ca 92398 .
