Aliene Merritt Obituary

Aliene Dorris Merritt, 74, of Waco, passed away Oct. 2, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer, at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco.

She was Baptist and loved the Baylor Bears.

Survivors include her four sons, Ricky Dorris and wife, Debbie, of Lorena, Larry Dorris and wife, Patty, of Vancouver, Wash., Dennis Dorris and wife, Teresa, of Brownwood, and Ronnie Dorris and wife, Retha, of Lorena; step-father, Guy Couch of McGregor; loving companion, Donnie Lankford of Lorena; special friend, Lee Gray of Waco; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many other friends in the Waco area.

My deepest sympathy to Donny & the family. I just talked to her within the last month and as always, her reply was "I'm fine". I have lost a life-long friend and heaven has won an extra special angel. Rest in peace til we meet again to shoot our girly pea shooters ?
