Billy Helmick Obituary
Bill was born September 6, 1934 in Waxahachie, Texas, to Everett Lee and Rebecca Helmick. After school, Bill began a career at Texas Farm Bureau, where he worked for over 30 years. Afterwards he returned to his first love and began another career as an owner and operator of a trucking business. Bill enjoyed his business. He had many trucks and kept working until the end when he was called home. Bill was active in the Rotary Club and other civic groups and community activities.
Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years, Nell Rose Helmick; children, Donna Lynn Atkinson, of Waco, Elizabeth Diane Heppel, of Plano, Thomas Craig Helmick and wife, Jill, of Pleasanton; brother, Michael Lee Helmick and wife, Jean; grandchildren, Misty, Chris, Chris, Andrea, Evan, and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Noah and Kylie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Caner Society, www.cancer.org.

Bill was a great man whom I shared many good times with. Bill loved to work and was always working on re-inventing himself. I know life threw him many curves but he always bounced back with his positive "can-do" attitude. Bill and I spoke almost daily for many years and would take turns buying lunch. Bill always argued that it was his turn to buy, lol. I'm really gonna miss him. He was a good friend.
