David C. Butler

David Butler, 76, of Valley Mills, passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, in a Clifton hospital. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Thursday at Valley Mills Cemetery followed by a 11 a.m. Memorial service at the Lutheran Sunset Ministries Chapel (Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home) in Clifton under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. David was born Oct. 8, 1933, in Valley Mills, Texas. He was the son of W. C. (Bally) and Kyle (Kemp) Butler. He was married to Sherry Carpenter Jan. 18, 1986, in Temple, Texas. He was a member of Valley Mills Church of Christ. Before retiring he had formerly worked for Waco Police Department and was an antique dealer. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Lee Butler; two brothers, Donald and Duane Butler. Survivors include his precious wife and care giver, Sherry Butler of Valley Mills; two daughters, Becky and Dava; a brother, Phil Butler and wife, Jewel; sisters, Patricia "Susie" Rico't, and Jane "Little Hen" Anderson and husband, Roland; a granddaughter, Carly; several nieces and nephews.
