Debbie Weldon, 63, of Keller, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco, Texas. Services will be on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, with visitation at 11 a.m., immediately followed by a memorial celebration at 12 p.m.

Debbie was born in Waco at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital to Raymond Eugene Weldon and Barbara Henderson. She grew up attending Waco I.S.D. schools and graduated from Richfield High School in 1977. She went on to attend Baylor University where she graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor degree focused on Elementary Education. She began her teaching career at North Waco Elementary School and spent the remainder of her career working with kindergarten through second grade at Whitley Road Elementary School in Keller I.S.D. Debbie's hobbies included golf, travel, reading and animal rescue. She was an active member in the ministries at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. She was a founding member of Apollo Support and Rescue which was launched January 28, 2012. She also worked with Little Orphan Angels Animal Welfare Agency. She loved and was an advocate for animals; she absolutely loved puppies and kittens. Debbie spent much of her time with her large family that included her parents, brother and three sisters. Most importantly, Debbie was the mother, amazing caregiver and supporter of her two sons, Jeremy and Brian. In recent years, she thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her boyfriend, Rick Whitson, and several of their friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Henderson; and her niece, Ellison Leigh Lindsey. Debbie is survived by her father, Raymond Weldon; and her 'bonus' mother, Glenda Weldon; her boyfriend, Rick Whitson; her sons, Jeremy Weldon Goss and Brian Patrick Garrett; her stepdaughter, Alissa Garrett Guizar; her brother, Don Raymond Weldon; her sisters, Jana Gaffney and her husband, Patrick Gaffney, Kendra Lindsey and her husband, Rod Lindsey, and Laurel Churchman and her husband, Paul Churchman. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Brittney Lilley, Jamie Weldon, Audrey Hackett, Samuel Lindsey and his wife, Alexis, Magness Lindsey, Marin Lindsey, Nathan Churchman and Wyatt Churchman.

The world is a little less bright without you Debbie. The only thing that makes it less sad is that I know you are in heaven helping love on all those kittens and puppies as only you can. To Debbie's family I send my heartfelt condolences on your loss.
