Joe Merilian Obituary

Joe D. Merilian, 95, of Waco, passed away Sunday Jan. 27, 2013, in Waco. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Pecan Grove F.H., 3124 Robinson Dr.

Joe was born Aug. 22, 1917, in Temple, Texas, to George and Aurene Merilian.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Lillie Dodd Merilian; and great-grandson, Connor Albright.

Survivors include his daughters, Paula Bingham and Pete, and Jody Anderson; son, George Merilian and Shirley; grandchildren, Beverly Bawcom and Todd, Courtney Anderson, Hayley Martinez and Luis, Dr. Julie Bingham and Bill Harrison, Jenni Barlet and Gary, and Michael Wayne Bishop and Laura; great-grandchildren, Jeff and Kris Bawcom, Corey Albright, Brittan Samford and Brett Barlet; and several nieces and nephews.

Following the services, there will be a reception at Lorena United Methodist Church, 205 N. Borden St. Lorena, TX 76655, where a memorial fund has been established.
