John Deines

June 10, 1949 - December 27, 2022

John Deines, 73, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, December 27, 2022, surrounded, by family and friends. John was born on June 10, 1949, in El Paso, Texas, to Walter and Alicia Deines.

He graduated from UT El Paso in 1970 and married his wife of 51 years, Kathi, on January 16, 1971, in El Paso, Texas. After living in New Mexico and California, he moved to Texas in 1978.

John was the owner of Craftsmen Shutter Shop, a local family-owned business, which he started when he moved to Waco in 1995. John was a caring man, not only to his family and close friends, but also to many in the local community at large.

He is survived by his beloved wife Kathi, daughters Gretchen, Esther and Caroline Deines, daughter Rebekah Nolen and her husband Caleb and three grandsons David, Nathan and Kenneth Nolen, all of Waco, Texas, as well as numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son John David Deines and grandson Christopher Nolen.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Ministries, 496 Halbert Lane, Waco, Texas.
