Mary Threadgill Obituary

Mary Lanelle Threadgill, 60, of Robinson, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, after her second battle with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Church of the Open Door with Pastor Ronnie Holmes officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Mary spent her youth as a competitive swimmer and diver, eventually making it to the Junior Olympics. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1968 and joined the Baylor University homecoming court in 1969 as a Baylor Beauty. She was proud to have been a Majorette, twirling her baton in the Baylor Golden Wave Band. Everyone who knew Mary growing up would say her greatest dream of being a mom came true through daughters, Angela and Celeste. Working as a legal secretary for 32 years didn't stop her from being the most involved mother in the PTA. She continued her mothering in her work at Church of the Open Door, which she considered to be her ministry to God. She was preceded in death by her father, David S. Threadgill Sr. Greatly loved, Mary is survived and will be missed by her daughters, Angela Doolittle and Celeste Doolittle; brothers, Gerry and wife, Candace, David Jr., and Brian; and mother, Mary. She also loved and was loved by many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online Guest Book at www.LakeShoreFuneralHome.com.
