Robert Palacios Obituary

Robert Palacios

September 29, 1958 - November 19, 2021

Robert Palacios, 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Robinson, Texas. He was born September 29, 1958, in Marlin, TX, to Genaro and Elvira Palacios.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 26, at OakCrest Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. followed by a Celebration of his Life. The funeral mass will be 9 a.m., Saturday, November 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waco. The interment will be 10 a.m., Monday, November 29, at Rosemound Cemetery, Waco.

Robert married his college sweetheart, Elizabeth (Liz) on June 30, 1979, at Miller Chapel, Baylor University. He attended Baylor for both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. As an avid Baylor football fan, he attended games with his family since 1979 hardly missing a game. He loved to make others laugh with his wittiness and fun way of seeing the world.

Robert lived well and loved well, especially God, family, and students. He taught history and ESL at La Vega ISD for 28 years teaching and guiding his beloved students in and out of the classroom. His love for education inspired many to pursue their degrees and careers.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Liz); and his children, Alonzo Peralez (Elsia), René Palacios (Romana), Aaron Palacios (Adriana), and Michelle González (Alex). He had ten grandchildren, Julie Reynolds, Alonzo Peralez, Jr., Emilio, Mateo, Eliana, Beatriz, Sofia, Eduardo Palacios and Natalia and Leticia González; his parents, Genaro and Elvira Palacios; sisters, Rachel Rodriguez (Steve), Christine Kelly (Daryl) and many beloved nephews and nieces.
