Shirley Ann Holdbrook Sovey, passed away on August 16, 2025, at the age of 84.

She was born on April 3,1941 to Leslie and Coralee Holdbrook in Stranger, TX.

She is survived by her husband Henry Wayne Sovey of 60 years and 9 months. Her son and daughter in law Sam and Tracy Sovey, her granddaughter and grandson, Victoria and Matt Kleen and her great granddaughter Keira Kleen, her sister Gayle and many loving nieces and nephews.

She devoted her life to her family as a loving home maker known for her warm hospitality. She found joy in cooking, baking and filling her home with delicious meals and cherished memories; her kitchen was often the heart of family gatherings where she shared not only her recipes but also her love.

Shirley loved kids. She was a Sunday school teacher, missionette leader, and worked at the children's church. She volunteered at Alta Vista elementary. She was on the board of directors at Southern Little League, where she was in charge of the girl's softball program. Shirley was a cook for Curtis Glockzin's Men's Ministry meetings every month. Every weekend she always had 4 -14 kids in her home, whether she knew them or not, they always got a tuna fish sandwich and chocolate chip cookies. She would load her little Volkswagen to take the kids swimming, miniature golf or wherever. She loved kids.
