Justine Ewan Obituary

Justine K. Ewan

March 1, 1966 - January 22, 2025

Justine K. Ewan, 58 of Ithaca, NE passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at home with her family. She was born March 1, 1966 in Fort Dodge, IA, the daughter of Jerry and Mary McCaffery.

She moved to Ithaca about 10 years ago. Justine spent the majority of her adult life caring for others. She worked as a certified nursing assistant, massage therapist and direct support professional for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. When not working, she loved all things outdoors. She liked gardening, camping and sitting in the sun listening to her water fountains. Justine also enjoyed road trips with her family and weekend get-a-way shenanigans with her daughter. She frequented any kind of garage sale or yard sale.

Justine cherished all her friends dearly, especially the ones called "Ya-yas." So kind, she would truly give the shirt off her back to a complete stranger. She was one of the kindest, yet strongest women known by her family, friends and acquaintances.

Justine is survived by her daughter, Krystal Bartek and husband Michael of Wahoo; her fiancé/life partner, John Jones of Ithaca; her grandson, Haidyn (Raven)Bartek; her brother, Bart (Joanna)McCaffery; sister-in-law, Sally (Drew) Albright; nieces and nephews, Brent (Lacey) McCaffery, Brett McCaffery, Raya McCaffery, Ben McCaffery, Simone McCaffery, and Brayden McCaffery; mother-in-law, Judy Ewan.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
