Marcia, Josh, and Family,

I had a chance to get to know Wes as he was converting his career from law enforcement to education. He was great to have around and the basketball teams at Doane College loved Wes.

Nothing would have made Wes prouder than the way Josh delivered the eulogy at the funeral. The other thing that would have made Wes proud was Marcia's strength. It made the whole family strong.

I will never forget Wes, both at his time at Doane or being a father to a football player at Northwest.

To the Lamberson Family: we are so sadden to hear of your loss. Though we didn't know Wes, we could see how important his family was to him when he'd visit Josh at NW. We know words cannot heal the pain, but do know that the entire Bearcat community are praying for your family at this time of need.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Growing up with your son and having you both as bosses was some of the most entertaining times of my life. I always looked to Wes as guide throughout my high school years and he in turn was there to help me with life's surprises. I remember Wes getting as excited at my accomplishments as my own parents. I do not have much in life besides my thoughts and prayers just wanted to let you know that you are in them both.

I just wanted to add my sincere heartfelt wishes to the family and let you know that Wes will always have a special place in the hearts of many. When I started at LPD in 1986, I had the gift of working with Wes and what a great spirit he had! He was sharp, caring, fun, friendly, positive and a great officer. Always a joy to work with, and he was one of those who set the tone and attitude for me and my experience here at LPD. How to do The Job with heart! So many of us still here remember Wes and the good energy he has left behind. I know he'll want you all to take good care of yourselves now! Wish I could've been at services to honor "one of the good guys" but I'll be forever grateful for briefly having shared a path with him.

Mrs. Lamberson and family,

I worked with Wes in the Doane EDL program prior to my move to Texas. I just saw him last week in Kearney and was shocked to hear of his untimely death. Wes was a gracious man who met everyone with a smile.

To the Family of Wes Lamberson:
I had the privilege of being one of Wes's "Cadre 7" classmates pursuing our Master's Degrees at Doane College. Wes was a joy to know...always happy, and always willing to listen. I spoke to him in Kearney just a few days ago, and, as usual, Wes approached me with a big smile, a warm welcome, and a listening ear. He will always be remembered by all of Cadre 7. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

August 4, 2008

god looked inside your heart
goodness is all he could see

so he put his arms around you
and he whispered come with me
with tearful eyes we wonder
why he took you from us today
although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay
a golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands now at rest
god broke our hearts to prove to us he chose to take the best

you are all my thoughts, and I am so sorry for your loss,

Mrs. Lamberson and Rebekah,

I just don’t know what to say. It’s just unexplainable how this could have happened. How something so bad can happen to someone so good. 5th grade was a difficult year for me, both in school and out. Mr. L just went out of his way to help me. I wish I would have told him how much it meant to me. His smile will be etched in my mind forever. He was just so amazing! He’s going to be missed by A LOT of people.
