Jamie Wolske lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Jamie was being treated at St. Joseph's Medical Center at her time of death.
Jamie was born in Galesburg, Ill., to Gene and Georgene Wolske Dec. 24, 1961. She was the sixth of eight children.
When Jamie was 15, the family moved from Henry, Ill., to Backus. Jamie graduated from the Backus High School. Upon graduation she moved to Walla Walla, WA, but returned to Backus a year later.
Jamie worked in the Backus School system for a number of years as a teaching assistant, but she found her place at Faith in Action, where she worked until a few months before her death.
Jamie wrote grants for Faith in Action and took an interest in the lives and needs of all those seeking help.
Jamie loved dogs and found comfort in them because of their unwavering and unconditional love. It was her wish that donations be made in her name to the Heartland Animal Rescue Team (HART) at 15494 Dellwood Dr. Brainerd, MN 56401.
Jamie is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her seven siblings. Her Celebration of Life will be July 12 at 4 p.m. at the Warehouse, 307 Norway Ave. Pine River, with Pastor Roger Braaten officiating.
The family wishes to thank all Jamie's friends who stayed by her side until the end and did so much to ensure her comfort and care. Jamie's friends were her chosen family, and she loved each of you beyond measure.
