Carol Cariveau Obituary

Austin - Carol Marie Cariveau, 77, of Austin, Minnesota died Wednesday morning, November 13, 2024, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Carol was born on January 12, 1947, in Cando, North Dakota, to Orlen and Agnes (Brannan) Stenson. She grew up in Rock Lake, North Dakota, and graduated with the class of 1965 from Rock Lake High School. From an early age, Carol worked alongside her father, operating heavy machinery on the family farm. She went on to attend the University of North Dakota, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1969. In 1968, Carol married Chuck Cariveau, and together they made their home in Austin, Minnesota, for over 40 years.

Carol was a devoted and compassionate Registered Nurse, serving in the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, and Home Health Care. She cared deeply for her patients, always approaching her work with empathy and dedication. As a mother, Carol was loving and steadfast, supporting her four children in every pursuit and joyfully guiding them as they grew. She treasured family gatherings, cherished time spent with her grandchildren, and maintained a close bond with her beloved sister, Margaret.

Carol's warmth, laughter, and vibrant spirit enriched the lives of everyone she met. She loved socializing, reading, praying, and staying connected with her extended family. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support lives on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Orlen and Agnes Stenson, and her husband, Chuck Cariveau.

Carol is survived by her children, Christopher (Jewel) Cariveau of Waseca, MN, Stephanie (Jerit) Nelson of Waseca, MN, Andrew (Allesandra) Cariveau of St. Paul, MN, and Monica Cariveau of Grand Blanc, MI.
