ALAN FRIEDMAN Obituary
Alan P. Friedman (Age 82)
Of Catonsville, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 with his family by his side. Alan was a dedicated federal employee with over 40 years of service, a majority of which was spent at the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade, Maryland. Most importantly he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, family member and friend to many. Alan is survived by wife Zaida Ortiz Friedman; his children Marcine (Craig) Gough, Nicole Friedman Scott (Jay Scott); his grandchildren Ryan, Connor, Ethan Gough and Mischa Scott. Alan was predeceased by his parents Saul and Matilda Friedman and his step-mother Sara Press Friedman. Services are private. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to American Cancer Society, 405 Williams Court, Suite 120, Baltimore, Maryland 21220 or Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, 750 East Pratt Street, Suite 1700, Baltimore, Maryland 21202.

I remember 4th of July picnics, Thanksgiving dinners and many more get-togethers with your family. Alan (& Zaida) were always so kind to my brother and I and my parents adore them both. Nothing but lovely childhood memories and laughs with Alan! He was always so full of life and joy :)

What a very warm, happy and funny man. We were honored to have spent some time with him and Zaida in Charlestown. Though we only had a year's acquaintance, it felt like we had known him for a lifetime. Our deepest sympathy to Zaida, daughters and their families. Que Descanse en Paz. He will be missed. I will always remember my spring break in 1989. I flew to Wash DC to spend time with the family. Tio (Uncle) Alan went to pick me up at the airport. And he had one of those sign with my name on it. I will never forget his face with his big smile when I started Laughing after seeing the sign. We laughed the entire way to the house. Every time we saw each other, he made it a point to want to hear about my life, what I was up to, and my plans. Always made me feel like a son. Will miss you Tio - Thank You! Rest In Peace for eternity.

I will always remember Mr. Friedman as a great man, devoted husband and father. I enjoyed visiting Them in Florida and MD. He was always so warm and welcoming, and a smile that could light up as room. When you were in the company of Mr. Friedman you could feel his love and instantly knew you were in the presence of an extraordinary human. May he rest in eternal peace.

I have so many fond memories of Mr. Friedman from spending time at Nicole’s house as a kid. I remember him as a big, strong, Dad who was a total sweetheart to his daughters. I always loved spending time at the Friedmans’ house because they were so welcoming. May he Rest In Peace. I know he will be sorely missed.
