On Wednesday, December 24 2014, the patriarch of the Goudarznia family, born January, 4 1913, he was 101. An Iranian economist, author, educator, athlete and a diplomat. In 1962 he was appointed as the economic attache to the embassy of Iran in Washington DC, after return to Iran he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Iranian National Airlines, prior to his mission abroad he served as the undersecretary of finance in Tehran, in addition to his official government posts, he maintained a position as an English professor at the Alborz College/High School in Tehran. His family was at the epicenter of his life he dedicated many years of his life developing, designing and maintaining the family tree. Though we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the very rich legacy of his 101 years. In 1945 he married Azam Sardarpour Goudarzi who died January 18, 2014. Survivors include, his sisters Fakhriran Zahedi, Poorandokht Tolooee; sister-in-law Nezhat Goudarzi; daughter Forooz and husband Alberto Sakata, Aryana and Fred Goudarznia; son-in-law Houshang Safaipour who was married to his late daughter Mitra, 11 grandchildren, Haleh, husband Josh, Avid husband Jerry, Bobby, wife Mariam, Albert, wife Cole, Mike, wife Brittany, lissa, fiancé Anthony, Kevin, Shirin, Darya, Cameron, Yassie, and nine great grandchildren.A private memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Kentland Mansion for the family.
