ANN E. ROGERS (Age 99)

Mom was born in Reserve, Kansas in 1923. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1945 with a BS degree in the School of Speech. She accompanied Dad on numerous overseas and stateside assignments during his 44-year career, the last being 8 years in Mons, Belgium when Dad was the Supreme Allied Commander, Europe. During these assignments, she served as honorary president of numerous organizations affiliated with helping military families throughout the world. She loved playing golf (she was very proud of her hole in one!) and playing the piano.

There is no doubt that she filled her life and the lives of those around her with love, light, beauty and humor. She was the essence of grace and caring to all who made her acquaintance.

A funeral service will be held at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY. at a future date. She'll be laid to rest next to the love of her life. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Point Association of Graduates.

I was Mrs. Rogers Bodyguard at SHAPE for several years. She was such a nice person. She would always buy small gifts for our wives after each trip. For many years after leaving SHAPE, she always sent me a Christmas card. She and Patrica Haig will always be in my memory. She would often get the General off our case when he thought we messed up. We think very often about Ann Rogers and her late husband Gen Bernard W. Rogers with whom we shared several years of military life and many more years of friendship. Ann was one of the kindest and most caring people we have ever known. She was admired, indeed loved, by the many people with whom she came in contact. We miss her greatly.
