My Husband, rented her basement apt for a couple of yrs due to working MD and Living in NC. So when I visited,I had many opportunities to chit chat with Audrey and was always struck with her joy of life, her encouragement of others and her love. She touched my life with her tenacity to enjoy life and I am grateful for that gift

Words cannot express the level of sadness I felt in receiving this news especially since I had recently corresponded with Audrey directly by e-mail and we were trying to make plans for me to visit her at home. I initially met Audrey through the NIH's R&W many years ago where she served as my Public Speaking coach. Audrey was such a wonderful and genuine person. Although we had not spoken over some time, to this day I still refer to all of the advise that she offered. She was a very strong woman who was sincere in her approach and but also funny and inspirational at the same time. May her soul rest in perfect peace.

I am thankful that I had the opportunity to know Audrey. I rented her basement apartment just months before she was diagnosed. I had the wonderful experience of getting to know her and witness her strength and grace as she moved through life. My heart goes out to John and all the family and friends of this very beautiful woman.

To Audrey's Family,
We can not forget her charming smile and always on the move. She stood by people who were anxious to learn to speak in public how can such a person be forgotten. She will always be close to our hearts.

I was quite in awe of Audrey. Getting to know her after her ALS diagnosis, I was inspired by her love of life as well as her grit in fighting her affliction. Yet somehow she accepted her fate with unimaginable grace. God be with all of you.

Audrey and I shared many stimulating hours discussing life philosophy, literature, our families and our churches. Her strength and graciousness as she confronted many challenges were always buoyed up by the support of friend John and her family. She was nurtured by the love she received, and returned love in every action. Peace and consolation to all. Arleta DiPaolo

Audrey was a talented member of our class of '58 at Conn. College who contributed a great deal through the years as an alumnae. I will not forget her courage, spirit and faith in these last few, difficult years.
