Barry Woodard Obituary

WOODARD
BARRY FRANK WOODARD

Died suddenly on Tuesday, February 14, 2007 in Naples, FL. Born in Washington, DC, he was raised in Silver Spring, MD by Frank and Hope Woodard. He lived in Montgomery County, MD until 1982, attended Montgomery Blair High School and Montgomery College. Started his career as a Washington Post Distributor in 1967. From 1970 until 1982, he started and operated Woodard Industries, a furniture and home furnishings manufacturer. In 1982, he moved to St. Simons Island, GA and started and operated several restaurant-bar businesses. In 2005, he moved to Florida. Barry raised two daughters, Lisa Tumbell-Woodard of Hollywood, FL and Corey Astrom of Ocala, FL with his ex-wife, Mary Ellen Downs of Rockville, MD. Barry is also survived by four grandchildren, Ava, Oliver, Nathaniel and Samuel; two brothers, Stephen of Durham, NC and Donald of N. Potomac, MD; and a sister Cynthia of Rockville, MD. Barry's remains were cremated at Naples Funeral Home, Naples, FL. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date.

My deepest sympathy to Barry's family. We all had great fun with Barry in high school and he was my first boyfriend with a car! I hope he had a great life. I will forever keep him in my memory.
