Bijan Ghovanlou Obituary



GHOVANLOU Dr. BIJAN GHOVANLOU A resident of Potomac, Maryland and a board certified orthopedic surgeon died from complications of heart disease at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland on September 22, 2010. Dr. Ghovanlou practiced medicine with great love for his occupation and extreme passion for and caring of his patients for over 40 years. He practiced out of his office in Greenbelt, MD and Prince George''s Hospital where he held a number of positions including the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery Department. He is survived by his wife Aghdas and daughter Roya. The family will be honoring his life with a service at 12 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at National Funeral Home. The address is 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042 - (703) 560-4400. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate contributions to Suburban Hospital, ICU Department Care of Suburban Foundation, 8600 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, MD 20814. The family would like to thank the staff at Suburban Hospital ICU wing 3100 for their compassion and support. This announcement is made on behalf of the following families: Farzanegan, Ghovanlou, Azarsa, Teimourian, Nawab, Behbahani, Ganjei, Channing, Bachowski, Marcelle, Frankfurt, Mobasser, Schive, Hubbs.

Dear Mrs. Ghovanlou, I am so sorry to learn today of Bijan's passing in September. He was a wonderful physician colleague and cared for my family and myself, as well, as I worked with him for many years at Prince George's. Our thoughts are with you.
