BRIAN JAMES GODLOVE 1975 ~ 2015 Brian James Godlove passed from our arms much too soon and far too young on the evening of August 5, 2015 surrounded by the eternal love of family who will hold tight to the amazing and wonderful memories we created together during his 40 years of life.Brian was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on January 3, 1975 to Mary Jane (Benbrook) and James Woolsey Godlove. Brian graduated from Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and was employed by the Navy Federal Credit Union in Vienna, Virginia where he was a Financial Analyst, Senior Cost Accountant, and Risk Modeler from 2003 until his death. Brian married the love of his life, Pamela Lynn Smithson, on June 12, 1999 at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Annandale, Virginia and together they welcomed two remarkable children into their family; Brooke Isabella and Carter Temple Scott Godlove. Brian is survived by his wife, Pamela; daughter, Brooke; son, Carter of Fairfax, Virginia; his parents, Mary Jane and Jim Godlove of Vienna, Virginia; and his sister, Rebecca Jane Godlove of Pacific Palisades, California. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Jane and Ernest Godlove of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Susan Godlove of Lawton, Oklahoma and Sheryl and Bruce Benbrook of Woodward, Oklahoma; and many dear cousins. Brian was also treasured by Pamela's parents, June and Norman Smithson of Annandale, Virginia; her sister's family, Tonya and Tom Davis of Rockville, Maryland and many more uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.Brian's family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, August 27 between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m. at the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home in Fairfax, Virginia and to a memorial service on Saturday, August 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Annandale, Virginia, to be followed by a celebration of life reception also at the church. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent in Brian's memory to support the children, youth and music programs at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, 8617 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, Virginia 22003.
