Charles Jeffress Obituary

JEFFRESS

CHARLES WATSON JEFFRESS

Charles Watson Hume Jeffress passed away peacefully at home on New Year's Day, January 1, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jean Brown Jeffress, his son, Berkeley Jeffress of Bethesda, his daughter Ashley Craighill and her husband Peyton of Chevy Chase, and his two beloved granddaughters Katie Jeffress and Riley Craighill.

Charles attended Randolph Macon College and worked in the moving business for many years. He was a kind and spiritual man and spent many hours volunteering for a wide variety of charitable organizations. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed sharing his love of sailing, camping and surf fishing with his family and friends. He was a history buff who participated in regional Revolutionary War reenactments. Always proud of his Scottish heritage and quick to don his kilt, Charles was formerly active in the St Andrew's Society of Washington, DC.

True to the end, he will be dearly missed. A service at All Saints Church in Chevy Chase will be held at a future date.

Chevy Chase water aerobics

January 30, 2023

Charles was a dear water aerobics participant/friend in my classes at the CCC. Everyone enjoyed his wonderful easy going and friendly manner and his quick and endearing sense of humor. I´m honored to have happy memories and will always remember him. We women affectionately teased him but of course he loved the attention! Maggie Zimmerman
