After reconnecting with a staff member from Children's Express, I searched Charlie Lord's name and found the news of his passing. He had an amazing spirit, an infectious laugh, an inspiring soul and he touched my life profoundly for the better. I thank you for sharing him with Children's Express. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Gay,
We just learned of Charlie's death from cousin Shelly Barth.
I have such fond memories of you and Charlie at Holton. In particular, our brief show business career with Charlie as Elvis, and you as part of our "Baby Love " chorus line. I cherish our times together. All the best, Nell Hampton

I just found out about Charlie's death and find myself quite sad. Charlie introduced me to St Tim's in 1984 and I have remained. His heart was huge. He was the grandfather to all the girls at the school. When he retired, his portrait was in the HMAC. I would look at it everyday and smile. His presence was always with me.

I send my sincerest condolences to the Lord family. Mr. Lord was more than my benefactor and I always looked forward to writing to him. I still keep both of his letters in my backpack and treasure them as if he were a penpal.

Dear dear Gay, it is with great shock and sorrow that I received the sad news of Charlie's death. He was such a good, kind, smart, fun, entertaining, and loyal friend, and we were privileged to be in his orbit. You two were devoted friends of my parents until they died, and of course the two of you have meant the world to me! I will cherish all the fond memories and laughs and time spent together. I send you and yours my love and devotion during this difficult time, Barbara Reed (and Tim)

Mr. Lord - as he will always be known to us Holton women - was the headmaster during all my years there. His door was always open to us and I will forever remember him hanging out with us as seniors in our lounge. He was a generous, kind, and gregarious man who had a profound impact on my life. I will always cherish his memory.

I first met Charlie when he was secretary of the board of ACCION International. He and Gay hosted me many times when he was Head of St. Timothy's School in Maryland. A great friend and an outstanding educator. Betts and I send our sincere condolences to Gay and his family.

My son Levi was so lucky to have been held by the Big Guy just the weekend before he passed. Big Guy's laugh was contagious and thankful Levi has the same trait. You are in our thoughts each and every day.
Love,
