30 years ago our paths crossed at a camp I MA. Chris, Karen, and Ryan were there and I was water front director. We became good friends and I stopped to see them once traveling to FL later. I never kept in contact. I wish I had. They were both great people. My prayers go out to all the children.

Coach Chris was a great inspiration and made me try to be a better coach (without knowing it). I never had the 'professional' training he had and that was obvious by the way he approached his craft. Always patient, upbeat, encouraging; he wanted to bring out the best in a player. That was very humbling to witness and I knew I was watching a sincere, sensitive soul. So sad that he was taken this way, but I am inspired to become a better coach by following his example. Be proud of having him in your life, I am.

I worked with Chris at Congressional Schools of Virginia. He was an upbeat, energetic, and personable guy. My fondest memory of him is seeing him coming down the hall with a big bag of balls over his shoulder and a bunch of kids following him. He pitched in at the school doing anything needed, driving a bus, shovelling snow, setting up classrooms. He was a fun, hard working guy. My thoughts and prayers are with his kids.
