Chris was such a wonderful person, so proud of his family, his girls were his pride and joy. He would be especially proud of them today as they carved their path and would adore Mayleigh. I know you and Sherry smile down on them with that same love. Miss you both

Sherry and Family,

It always so hard to comprehend how a great guy like Chris leaves us so early in life. He was always smiling and was so positive. We will miss Chris. We will keep your family and Chris in our prayers. The poem I am adding came to mind where I heard about Chris and the legacy he has left.

Martinez Family,

He has achieved success
who has lived well, laughed often and loved much;
who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children;
who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
who has left the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem or a rescued soul;
who has never lacked appreciation of Earth's beauty or failed to express it;
who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had;
whose life was an inspiration;
whose memory a benediction.

After Glow

I'd like the memory of me
To be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow
Of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
Whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
And bright and sunny days
I'd like the tears
Of those who grieve,
To dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done.

"Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord."

Chris was a fabulous person who knew humor and honesty. He was a man I loved and thought highly. I want you to know Chris I will be here for Aunt Rose and Jeanne as we talked about. Thanks for being my cousin, my friend!

When I think of Chris I always envision that smile of his. I ran into him one day in Leesburg a few years back and it's the first thing I noticed after all these years - the smile was still there.
