I just now heard of Kit's passing, and my thoughts & prayers go out to his family. I went to high school with Kit, and we became friends in the years after that. I'll never forget riding around George Mason in his "Jaws" station wagon! I haven't seen him in a few years, but always considered him a true friend. He will be missed.

Chris, you always remembered my long journey home for the holidays and called to advise me where I would hit traffic and troubles from construction or whatever road chaos was out – you’d call and tell me the best times and days to travel – you were there to call on if I needed to know where it was safe to stop with a car load of babies or if I got lost when I got off of 95, 64 or 81. This year as I travel again, I’ll be thinking of you and how you have truly gone HOME for Christmas. All your pain and suffering has finally come to the end. Jesus has called upon you to start your new career, and new life, a career that has an everlasting rebirth of your heart and your soul, and I am sure you have all of heaven laughing already. It was an honor and a privilege to know you in this lifetime. Merry Christmas my friend, you will never be forgotten and you are deeply missed… To Chris’ family I pray God keep you as you go through these trying times of bereavement. My heartfelt sympathy to each and everyone who loved Chris, we all feel the loss in so many different ways.

I have known Kit just about since he was born. His mom and my mom are best of friends and we just all grew up around each others' families. My son, Jonathan, remembers him fondly from trips over the summer to Nagshead. What fun they had! Kit and his family are very special and hold a place in our hearts that will burn forever with memories. My heart goes out to Terri, the children, Aunt Bonnie, and Uncle Les. I love you all!

Kit,
It was so good to talk to you again after all those years. You were more than a friend to me growing up; you were a band-mate and a brother. After talking to you last, I wrote a song with you in mind called 'Spaces'. Here's an excerpt:
These spaces surround me
like shapes on a wall
illusions of grandeur
that flicker and fall
But you see beyond them
to spaces of heart
to spaces of mystery
to spaces of love
I wish you could've heard it. I wish I could have seen you again in this life. You and your family will be in my prayers.

I did not know Chris, but from reading the condolences from his peers and friends, I felt compelled to express my sorrow.
I am deeply sadden that a special person like Chris is no longer here to help make this world a better place. It doesn't matter now. For the time he was here, he left great memories and through his kindness he left his mark on the world. Chris did his part to show the rest of us how to be a kind and genuine person. That's why he will never be forgotten.
God will only take the best of us, and Chris was the best.

In some ways Kit was the best of all of us. His heart was pure, his intentions were true. Though many years passed between us, once we were together again the friendship came naturally. I will miss you my old friend~I feel blessed to have been able to spend time with you recently and I know that I'll see you again. Rest in peace and know that the ones you love will be taken care of and will love you forever. You will never be forgotten or forsaken. I miss your face.

I had the pleasure of knowing Kit back in the 80's when he was full of the dreams of becoming a professional drummer. Working as an A&R rep locally I was able to see him play in both band practices and on stage. He was a drummer of incredible talent and energy. we grew apart over the years but I never forgot him. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. When ths skies darken and I hear thunder....I'll know it is Kit tuning his set... Rock on my friend and Godspeed. All my love to his family.
