CLAIRE HABERMANN Obituary


CLAIRE EVA HABERMANN  
Died in Troy, New York on January 22, 2018 from complications of polycystic kidney disease and lung cancer surgery. Born August 7, 1960 in Southampton, NY, Claire was raised in New York City and Washington, DC, where she attended the Stone Ridge Country Day School of the Sacred Heart. She later attended English boarding school and then returned to the States, graduating from the Canterbury School in 1978. She attended the Pratt Institute School of Art and graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 1983. Claire was a talented artist, working in a wide variety of mediums including acrylic, watercolor, photography, and textiles. Claire will be greatly missed for her wit, humor, bravery, generosity, intelligence and big heart. She is survived by her loving husband, Bryan Siegel of Bennington, Vermont; her father, Stanley Habermann of Washington, DC; her sisters, Lee Wadelton of Quogue, NY, Lynne Habermann of the Bronx, NY and Jill Habermann Howe of Chevy Chase, MD; her nieces, Anne Wadelton of Brooklyn, NY, Julia Howe Barinas of Los Angeles, CA and Madeleine Howe of Manhattan, NY; and her grand-nephew, Manolo Barinas of Los Angeles, CA. Claire joins her dearly departed mother, Lise Habermann, who also suffered from polycystic kidney disease.A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
