Clarence Anthony "Hank" Chaney Jr.

Passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2025. Hank was born April 2, 1939, in Washington DC. Son of the late Clarence and Alma Chaney. He was a graduate of Wheaton High School. On June 9, 1962, he married the love of his life, Margaret "Peggy" Early at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church and they had two beautiful children. Hank is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, his two children, Laurie A. Watts (Mike), Steven P. Chaney, and six grandchildren, Christina Wagoner, Brian Fowler, Sean Watts, Shannon Watts, Quaid Chaney and Adia Chaney, and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Gail Schrimpf, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Chaney. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Shrine of St. Jude’s, 12701 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. Additional calling hours on September 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Jude’s.
