CLAUD KELLETT Obituary


Claud Marvin Kellett  
On October 18, 2021, Claud Marvin Kellett, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 93. He was in hospice care at Brightview Woodburn Senior Living, Annandale, VA. Claud was born in Memphis, TN, on September 5, 1928, to the late Claud Marvin Kellett, Sr. and Helen Elizabeth Smith Kellett. Claud married Janice J. Kellett in Tupelo, MS on December 29, 1948. Claud and Janice (deceased) raised five children, Carol (deceased), Claudia, Richard, Daniel, and Cynthia. His younger brother Charles Richard Kellett is deceased. Claud graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Electrical Engineering), Perdue (Masters of Physics) and MIT (Doctoral work). He served in the Korean War and was a combat veteran. He worked for various organizations, most notably, Texas Instruments, NASA and the National Science Foundation. He was a participant in the world's development and implementation of semiconductor chips. As a Federal employee he helped manage and support many of the major astronomical instruments used in astronomy today.Graveside service will be held at Quantico National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11:30 a.m.www.fairfaxmemorialfuneralhome.com
