I met Cynthia during a trip to Antarctica in 2003, she was with one of her grandaughters and had been widowed only the year before. She liked my Scottish accent and my Sean Connery impression and we hit if off right away. What a wonderful lady, we had such good chats and fun together during our trip. Well into her 80's Cynthia surprised me by jumping hand in hand off a zodiak into the Southern Ocean with seals swimming close by. The water was very cold but what a woman, she survived the freezing water and even managed to laugh about it. Was a joy meeting this remarkable lady, albeit for only 2 weeks.

I am so sorry to hear this news. What a wonderful woman she was. I thoroughly enjoyed the day I spent with her a few months ago, researching my book on the CIA directors. She was full of wonderful stories about Dick Helms, whom she obviously adored, and vice versa. My sincere condolences.

A interesting, accomplished and avid bridge player, she was a smiling, helpful member of the Guy Mason Duplicate Bridge Club. She will be missed by the directors and players.

Cynthia was an amazing woman- smart, fun with a great wit. I loved playing bridge with her at Guy Mason and will miss her.
