Daniel Dawidowicz Obituary

Daniel J. Dawidowicz, born December 30, 1934 at Deaconess Hospital in Buffalo, New York of parents Joseph and Eleanor (Krzesinski) Dawidowicz. He graduated from Buffalo East High School in 1952 with a concentration in music where he played piano and flute. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as a Bandsman and subsequently was reassigned to the electronic communications specialist and linguist fields. He served overseas tours with the Air Force Security Service in the Philippines IS., Turkey, and West Berlin, Germany before retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. He had earned several awards including two Air Force Commendation Medals and achieved a college degree.

Daniel is survived by his Devoted Wife of 65 years, Patricia Ann (O'Connor); Beloved Children Colleen (Joseph) Besherwor and Kenneth Dawidowicz; Dear Grandchildren Matthew, Jeremy, and Joshua Dawidowicz. Life could not have been better due to his beloved wife, family, relatives and friends.

Following retirement from the Air Force, Daniel worked for Rockwell International, Harris Electronics, Watkins-Johnson Corp. and the Department of Defense. He worked part-time with Honeywell as a contractor in the Archives. Daniel was a member of the Berlin Island Association (BIA), Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, Flute Society of Washington and the Greenbelt Community Concert Band. He was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Jessup, MD. He enjoyed visiting with his neighbors, gardening, and playing music in his later years.

A memorial mass is scheduled for May 3, 2024 at 11 a.m.
