JUDGE DINAN WAS A SPECIAL FRIEND OF MINE. HE WAS ALWAYS AVAILABLE WHEN HELP WAS NEEDED. HE WAS AN OUTSTANDING JUDGE AND TRIAL ATTORNEY DURING HIS CAREER WITH THE US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
AND THE U.S. TAX COURT.
HE WAS VERY PROUD OF HIS FAMILY. AND ESPECIALLY WHEN HIS TWO SONS ENTERED THE LEGAL PROFESSION. HIS MANY FRIENDS WILL TRULY MISS HIM, AS I WILL.
GOD BLESS HIS FAMILY.
JUDGE MARVIN PETERSON.

We are very sorry for your loss. While we didn't know Judge Dinan, we always learned life lessons when son Jim would share stories of his father. May his memory and life lessons live on with you and your family. John and Linda Kelleher (Arlington, VA)

Judge Dinan was an amazing man. I was sad to hear of his passing. Sending positive thoughts and prayers to the Dinan family. Many of us loved working with Judge Dinan at the tax court. He was funny, smart and told the best stories. When moving on to my next career path he was so encouraging and thoughtful. I always enjoyed visiting with Judge Dinan when back in DC. He truly made a difference in many lives.

I had the honor of being Judge Dinan's first law clerk on the U.S. Tax Court in 1980. He also was instrumental in helping me get a position as a trial attorney at the U.S. DOJ. He was a great mentor and friend. I will always be grateful to him.
Although I will not be able to make the Memorial Mass, I had the opportunity to visit with Judge Dinan, Pat and Jimmie on a visit from Seattle to D.C. a couple years ago - along with Pat Moran who also clerked for Judge Dinan.
He was a great man and will be missed.

I had the honor of being Judge Dinan's first law clerk on the U.S.Tax Court in 1980. He was a great mentor and friend.
In addition to giving me the opportunity to clerk for him, he also was instrumental in helping me get a job with the Criminal Tax Section of the U.S. Department of Justice.
I will always be indebted to him for his help with my career in the tax field.
Although I will be unable to make the Memorial Mass, I was fortunate to visit with Judge Dinan, Pat and Jimmie a couple years ago - along with another one of Judge Dinan's law clerks from Seattle who accompanied me on the trip.
He was a great man and will be missed.

I had a great respect for Judge Dinan. He projected such a strong sense of discipline, honor and justice that he passed on to his sons. But his unique way of extending compassion to others is what stood out for me. He always cared for his neighbors especially the Wolfe family that lived next door. I always admired him and his quick wit and encouragement. May God bless all of the Dinan family in this time of grief and loss.
With deep sympathy and love,

I grew up too far from Uncle Dan to know him as well as my Connecticut relatives. But I know, based on all the fond stories told by Anna Jean and my father Bob, that Dan was brother who was deeply loved and appreciated. I cherish the dinners at Zuppardi's when Uncle Dan and Aunt Pat came to town. Dan, you'll be missed. I regret I cannot attend the services this week. You are in the thoughts and prayers of me and my family.

Uncle Dan was an inspiration and made a difference in my sisters and brother's life along with mine that words can not express, the two uncles in the movie Second Hand Lions don't hold a candle to my Uncle Dan, he was real and really cared. Duane Dinan

Even though I left the Tax Division 45 years ago, I still think of Dan often. He was a wonderful mentor, colleague and friend. I'm certain he will be at Heaven's Gate to meet and greet us as we all arrive there. God Bless

Dan was a powerful and positive influence over every young trial attorney he supervised in the Tax Division. His influence has been felt everyday by those lawyers. I am one of them. As are others, I am proud to have worked for and with this wonderful man.

My favorite childhood memories include the times when the "Dinan boys" (Uncle Dan, Uncle Ed, and Uncle Bob) visited my mother's house. Uncle Dan was usually the catalyst for the laughter and good times. He will be missed.
