Daniel A. Honig

HONIG DANIEL A. HONIG Daniel A. Honig, JD, BME, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Chevy Chase, MD, retired hotelier and attorney died of lymphoma July 26, 2010. Mr. Honig developed and operated four hotels in the central business district of Washington, DC. The hotels were The Hampshire Towers, The Centerbury House, the Quality Inn and the Ramada. The hotels were sold to the Taj Hotel Group of India in 1981. Mr. Honig also practiced law in Washington, DC. He was an accomplished lecturer. He published "The National Property Law Digest", "The Executive''s Contract Law Desk Book", and "You Can Wake Up Rich". He was the founder and CEO of Qatron Corp. Tek Rep, Inc., Time Sharing Terminals and Interstate Housing Corp. Mr. Honig served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Some of the charities who benefitted from his generosity and time were the Jewish Federation, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Anti Defamation League, Kennedy Center, Kravis Center, University of Florida and the Lifelong Learning at Florida Atlantic University. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Diane C. Honig of Palm Beach Gardens, FL,his three sons Richard I. Honig and wife Dita Verheij; Michael J. Honig and wife Marian Honig of N. Potomac, MD; and Bruce Honig of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He leaves eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Mrs. Rebecca Good, Sarah Honig, Samuel Honig, Miles Honig, Keith Honig, Saige Honig, Jeffrey Honig and Robert Honig plus Clare Honig. He also leaves his faithful dog Jack. Services will be private. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a Hospice organization.
