I´m sending my deepest condolences and sympathy. Dr. Fischer was my psychiatrist and friend of over 20+ years. He was a great doctor and always there when needed. He helped me thru some of my darkest times.
Dr. Fischer was straightforward not missing a beat. He was a great listener and understood me very much. He always made me feel easy and I could talk about everything to him. He was very trustworthy and this is a lot about his character. He helped me thru several surgeries, death of family members and life challenges. When going to is office it was like home to me. I felt calm and relaxed. He had this energy about him that would just lift my spirit. He knew when I was troubled and stressed, which he pin-pointed right from the time our session started. Not only was he a good doctor, but a friend as well.
We talked about everything travel, work experiences, tv shows, food and especially family. He loved his family very, very much. We talked about our grandchildren and how much they were growing up.
I miss our visits, his help, the conversations, and most of all the trust. He was the best, he changed my life helping my thru 20+ years of therapy. God put him in my life for ALL the reasons. You will be missed.

Sending my deepest sympathies. Dr. Fischer was my psychiatrist of 13 years, only 5 of which I lived in DC. I kept him as my psychiatrist and would travel back for the remaining 8 years we had together while living in Philadelphia. He was the best there is. There is no other Dr. like him. He was almost a fatherly figure in a way. He helped me through the cancer diagnosis and treatment of my newborn child. He helped me through two pregnancies with my medications. He was a sounding board. A great man and loved his family. He talked so much about his beloved grandchildren. I miss our endless talks of love of travel and food. I will miss his cool eclectic office and his love of interior design and art. But most importantly YOU are missed Dr. Fischer

(Brief grammatical correction, Lorraine)

Dr Fischer was like a wise father and mentor to me for over 30 years, guiding me through deaths and losses, marriages, careers, and major life decisions. For years, I´ve had the privilege of seeing or speaking with him every week. He was my most trusted confidante. He was my Virgil.

Dr. Fischer was a straight-shooting, no nonsense, healer who brilliantly used humor and storytelling that was engaging and memorable; one always left his presence somehow wiser and feeling understood, and fortified to face life´s challenges.

His impact is immeasurable, but the ripples of his wisdom and his humanity and his presence impact myself, and those whom I have the privilege to touch in my practice and my life.

He studied under the giants in his field. He treated the high and the low, the homeless, and the disenfranchised, those of high status and those of power, and thus brought a breadth of understanding and ability to reach and heal so many with a virtuosity that few can attain.

He was a good man, a very good man. And I just miss his bright spark, his unique "Dr Fischer" take on things (life, politics, family, movies, everything ) -that humor, those stories, and those "tough talks" that you could count on and trust with your life.

It has been an honor and a privilege to know such a great man.

Dr. David Fischer
was my psychiatrist for the past 6 years. He was more than a doctor-though the best physician I have ever had. He was a sage, paternalistic, no nonsense, humorous, companionate and kind. Dr. Fischer was an excellent doctor and even more so, a very good man. I miss him but will relish and rely on my memory of his wisdom, encouragement and warmth; as he rests in peace with the Lord. Thank you and your wife for your kindness always.
With loving thoughts and sincere condolences to the entire Fischer family.

I wanted to offer my deepest condolences to Mrs. Fischer and family. While I didn´t know Dr. Fischer personally, he was a very caring and knowledgeable doctor of mine years ago when I lived in the Virginia area. I just relocated to Virginia last year, and was happy to see he was still practicing. I´d just talked to him a couple of weeks ago, and saddened to hear of his passing.
