It is so hard to believe that it has been 12 years since you went up to heaven Dave, I still miss you, and think about you. You were such a gentleman and always care and had respect for others, never took advantage of others, and always were straightforward. I will never meet or work for any one like you, you were Unico Dave!!!
Rest in Peace.

Well, Dave, whenever we sit on the deck, we will see you cooking at your grill, holding a glass of pinot. We raise our glasses to you, Dave, and your family. You are missed in the neighborhood, as in all other walks of your life, but will remain in our hearts always. Peace. Anne and Mitch

I met Dave at a party long before either of us would later both become real estate attorneys. He was one of the most charming, witty, and handsome people I had ever met. I thought "Who is this person?".He was THAT charming! We became friends and later worked together. I never lacked a good laugh or a kind ear when Dave was around. He loved to instant message me about all kinds of things and we kept up this way often. My heart goes out to David Helfrich, Kathy, Jim and Melissa. Dave you are gone but you will never be forgotten.

Dave was one of my favorite people. Listening to Dave carry on and tell a story, I have never laughed so hard in my life (and that says a lot). His laugh was loud, full and contagious. Miss ya, buddy.

We met David in 1973 when we lived next door to his family at Ft. Bliss, Texas when he was ten years old and have followed him as he grew from a shy young fellow into a most successful attorney. The memories from then involve his very complex drawings of space ships, his coming over with his small change to play poker, his guiding my brother and his golf buddies around Juarez, and his being a fun kid to be around. Kathy, Jim, Melissa and family our heart aches for you.

David was one of the first people I met when I moved to DC - he and David were not only neighbors but warm friends who made such an effort to welcome me to the city. His work on behalf of SLDN was heroic and will serve as his legacy. My heart goes out to all of his dear friends and family.

Please accept my condolences on David's death to his partner and family.

I had only a few occasions to have my client's settlements handled by Avenue, but my experiences with David were always with a warm, friendly professional guy who knew what he was doing. Although my practice has limited need for real estate closing work by a title company, Avenue, as a result of David, had become number one on my list when I needed such assistance.

I am sorry to lose a friendly, competent professional and especially to lose him at such an early age. I hope that David went comfortably and that his partner and the rest of his family can find solace in knowing that I, along, I am sure , with others in his field, will remember him as both a nice guy and a consummate professional.

Thank you so very much to everyone. My family and I were overwhelmed at seeing the amount of people who were touched by David and that loved him. I always knew my brother had many friends, but I had no idea it was that many. Thank you for helping us carry the burden of his death.
You have all touched us and we hope that you will take what you loved about David and use that throughout your lives to touch others.

David, your passing has come as a complete and utter surprise. I am still in shock and expect to see your face around the beach...but I know that will never happen. Although we have only known each other a short 5 years, I have to tell you that every memory I have of you, you have a big smile on your face. You knew how to laugh and have fun and I knew every time I saw you that a fun time was about to happen. The hurricane party at your condo being one of the most memorable.

My love and condolences go out to little David and to all your family and close friends. I cant imagine what they must be going through right now. Your absence will be greatly noticed.

Rest for now and we will see each other some day soon.

My deepest sympathies go out to David’s life partner Dave, his entire family, and many friends and colleagues. I have many wonderful memories of hanging out with Dave "back in the day". He was charismatic, charming, and always full of positive energy. Although we didn't spend as much time together in recent years, we always checked in periodically to see how each of us were doing. I will never forget the time we attended the Clinton inauguration together and he wore that damn fur coat and used a pair of sox for gloves. I got the biggest kick out of that. Dave, you will always have a special place in my heart.
