My sympathy and condolences go out to Nina, Pete, as well as to the Shonerd family and friends of Capt. Shonerd. I became reacquainted with Capt. Shonerd about two years ago after having not seen him in over thirty years. I recognized him immediately and he looked great and had not changed much in all of that time. He still had that kind face that I remember from our years together in the Boy Scouts, Troop 1516. He was a great Scout leader and someone you could really look up to. I learned as much from what he said as I did from watching his stellar example on how to conduct oneself. Our loss is Heaven's gain.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. It is so hard to lose a beloved parent. We plan to travel down and attend the Memorial Service at the Fairfax on Saturday. All our sympathy.
