David White Obituary
David Downing White of Mitchellville, Maryland, died peacefully at the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center on September 25, 2024. He is survived by Frances, his wife of 63 years; his daughter Megan White Ziegler (Brian); his son William Downing White (Nathalie); and by his three granddaughters, Alison and Sarah Ziegler and Josette White. David was a graduate of Oberlin College and Yale Law School. He retired after 32 years of service in several federal agencies, ending his legal career as an Administrative Law Judge in the Social Security Administration. His "second career" of nearly 30 years included leading public tours at Dumbarton House and Tudor Place in Georgetown and researching various aspects of history associated with those properties. David was known as having an inquisitive and thoughtful mind, a kind and gentle nature. He will be missed by many. Family and friends may visit on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road in Bowie, MD. Interment is private.
