Charles White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by G.H. Herrmann Funeral Homes - Madison on Feb. 23, 2026.
Charles Kenneth White, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 21, 2026.

He was born on September 10, 1952, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to the late Warren G. White and Nancy (Campbell) White. Charles was raised in a hardworking family and carried those values of dedication, perseverance, and integrity throughout his life.

Charles proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army. His time in service reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment-qualities that remained evident in all aspects of his life.

Following his military service, Charles became the owner and operator of Capital Roofing and Sheet Metal, a business he led with pride and determination for 35 years. Through his skill, strong work ethic, and honest approach, he built not only a respected company but also lasting friendships and trust within the community.

Outside of his work, Charles embraced the outdoors and the simple joys of life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating, finding peace and fulfillment in time spent on the water or in the woods. He also treasured the camaraderie he found playing pool at Robbie's Pub, where he met many friends and shared countless stories and laughter.

Above all, Charles was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia E. (Cox) White; his two sons, Anthony (Amy) White and Nicholas (Joie) White; and his seven cherished grandchildren, Isiah, Abby, Uriah, Moses, Nicholas, Elijah, and Benjamin. He is also survived by his seven siblings: Lesley, Christeen, Victoria, James, Warren G., Barbara Ann, and Penny Sue.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren G. and Nancy White, and his siblings, Carrie, Larry, Betty, June, and Harold.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate a life well lived from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis.

A celebration of Charles's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at funeral home, with additional visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery.

Charles will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The family invites those who knew Charles to share their memories, photographs, and condolences online, helping to honor his legacy and keep his memory alive.
